In a heartwarming celebration of community spirit, Noosa came alive with the magic of Christmas during this year’s highly anticipated Carol Cruise, presented by Reed & Co. Estate Agents in collaboration with the Noosa Ferry on Saturday, December 21.
The evening’s centrepiece was the Noosa Ferry’s Miss Tewantin, which gracefully navigated the river as the award-winning Oriana Choir delivered captivating performances of timeless carols.
Boating enthusiasts and picnic-goers gathered at four riverside park locations to revel in the festive ambiance, enjoying a musical journey that celebrated the season.
A dazzling flotilla of watercraft accompanied Miss Tewantin, featuring an impressive array of powerboats, pontoons, jet skis, and kayaks. The festive decorations adorning the vessels created a stunning visual display, enhancing the overall spectacle and spreading holiday cheer.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, the Sunshine Coast Youth Choir delighted audiences with uplifting Christmas songs at each of the ferry’s stops, including Lions Park, Noosa Park West, The Sound Park, and the foreshore outside The Noosa Boathouse. Their harmonious performances captivated attendees and added an extra layer of joy to the evening.
The seamless execution of this cherished event was made possible through the generous support of AV Partners, whose contributions ensured an unforgettable experience for all who attended.
“The Carol Cruise is one of my favourite events of the year,” Reed & Co’s Adrian Reed said. “It is incredibly rewarding to witness the growing popularity of this event as it becomes a cornerstone of our community’s festive celebrations.”
Oriana Choir president Melissa Innes said Christmas carols can be underrated but the joy and energy that they inspire was seen on the faces of people both aboard the flotilla and on the shores of Noosa River.
“The Reed & Co Carol‘s cruise is such an incredibly special event to be a part of. To be privileged enough to share happiness and peace with so many people in such a unique and joyous way should never be underestimated.
“One of the things I value about Oriana‘s participation as a community group is that Reed & Co co-are creating an event that builds each year – and shows their commitment to the community – that they truly care about them and are happy to invest in bringing this experience to life each year.”
Despite the tumultuous weather on the originally scheduled weekend for the Carols cruise, Oriana were enraptured when the event was rescheduled.
“Whatever the personal sacrifices made by all who took part – they soon melted away and were replaced by sheer happiness,” Ms Innes said.
“Oriana are so grateful to be a part of this event and hope the residents and visitors to Noosa enjoyed the evening as much as we did.”
As the carols resonated along the Noosa River and the shimmering lights danced on the water, this year’s Carol Cruise left a lasting impression on all who participated.
The spirit of Christmas was truly alive and thriving, thanks to the harmonious blend of music, community, and the shared joy of celebrating along Noosa’s picturesque riverbank.
To see the crowd that gathered at the final stop in Noosaville was an emotive reward for everyone who participated in the carols.
Next year’s event will include prizes for the best decorated vessel, so mark your calendars for Saturday, 20 December, 2025.
