EV drivers can now charge up at The Ginger Factory

Electric vehicle (EV) drivers are getting a boost thanks to Sunshine Coast tourism attraction The Ginger Factory this month as they unveil the newest Tesla Supercharger and Destination Charging site.

Located in the carpark of The Ginger Factory, it will house six Superchargers and six Wall Connectors making it one of the biggest Tesla Supercharger Stations in Australia.

Buderim Food managing director Tom Himstedt said, “We were absolutely thrilled when Tesla approached us about extending their network of Superchargers in Queensland.”

“The Ginger Factory is conveniently located less than 2kms off the Bruce Hwy which carries thousands of people to and from Brisbane and beyond every day.

“As a free admission tourist attraction, it’s also the perfect place to rest and recharge themselves and their passengers (as well as their electric vehicle).”

The Supercharger Station will be open 24 hours a day to any EV drivers and will house six Superchargers capable of recharging vehicles in approximately 45 minutes – the perfect amount of time to enjoy a world-famous Ginger Scone in the Ginger Factory Piazza area.

Visit the Ginger Factory on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 August to enjoy free activities including Tesla test drives, gingerbread decorating, a charge up energy drink station, colouring-in, a visit from Ginger Boy and a chance to play Tesla’s exclusive in vehicle game, Beach Buggy.

In the lead up to the opening weekend, visitors will be able to enter a competition to win the Ultimate Ginger Factory Tesla Experience. The winner will receive: Play, Taste, Discover – Win VIP passes and a Tesla for the weekend as well as lunch at The Ginger Kitchen, free Gelati, and a chance to decorate your own gingerbread Teslas with your family. Enter at The Ginger Factory website.
