A woman in her early 40s had to be rescue-winched from the Glass House Mountains National Park after suffering a medical incident on Wednesday 28 August.

The LifeFlight Sunshine Coast aeromedical crew received the call for help from a woman while she was climbing down a mountain in the National Park.

The Queensland Fire Department (QFD) was training on the mountain at the same time and offered initial assistance to her while waiting for the LifeFlight helicopter to arrive.

A Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic treated the woman on scene after being winched down by the LifeFlight crew.

Both the woman and paramedic were winched back to the helicopter and she was flown to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
