Doonan home takes major regional building award

Noosa builders and their clients have been honoured at the 2024 Master Builders Sunshine Coast Housing and Construction Awards.

The region’s natural beauty and enviable lifestyle shone through, taking out a variety of awards from House of the Year to a series of specialist trades.

The atmosphere was buzzing at the Novotel Twin Waters Resort on Friday 26 July, as a sell-out crowd gathered to honour the year’s best residential and commercial projects, as well as the individuals who have made standout contributions to the industry.

T2 Building Group took home the coveted Xact Accounting House of the Year Award for their breathtaking coastal masterpiece, Whipbird.

Rounding out the Major Awards category, Reed & Co Homes were celebrated with the BUSSQ Building Super President’s Award for the luxurious Bells Residence at Pelican Waters.

In the Individual category, ONELIFE PROPERTY GROUP co-founder and joint director Rebecca Clatworthy won the prestigious Women in Building Award.

The Apprentice of the Year Award honoured proactive and reliable team player Patrick Hagedoorn from Merkara Homes, while renowned custom-home builder Joseph Thomsen was named Rising Star.

Making it two for two this year was Envi Construction with Samios Projects Best Residential Bathroom Award and Individual Home from $2 million up to $2.5 million for Peregian Springs beauty Bronze Wing.

Hampton Homes Australia won Best Residential Swimming Pool Award and Individual Home over $10 million for the endless summer on offer with their build, Sunshine Beach.

Master Builders regional manager – Sunshine Coast, Nicola Scott, congratulated the winners across all 52 categories.

“The last 12 months have thrown plenty of challenges our way – but as we know, our industry is nothing if not resilient – and this year’s entries have raised the bar once again,” Nicola said.

“From breathtaking family builds and renovations and luxurious multi-residential living to fabulous entertainment and tourism destinations, as well as essential education, sporting, and wellness facilities, each project, as well as our individual winners, have contributed something really special to our region, bolstering it for the future.

“Our judging panels were thrilled with the level of craftsmanship, ingenuity, and passion for the industry, which made selecting the winners a tough but fantastic job.

“On behalf of Master Builders, I congratulate each of this year’s nominees and winners, and all those who are a valued part of our industry here on the Sunshine Coast. We’re so proud to be a part of your success and can’t wait to see what you achieve in the future.”
