The Bundaberg-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew airlifted a man to hospital on Thursday afternoon, after the plane he was in crashed in the Gympie region.
It’s believed the pilot was on a training flight exercise when the aircraft careered off the runway and landed in trees upside down at the end of the strip.
The rescue chopper was tasked to the scene shortly after 1pm, where the pilot landed the aircraft near the incident.
The LifeFlight critical care doctor worked with local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics to treat the patient for a suspected leg fracture.
The patient, aged in their 20s, was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital for further treatment.
