Sunshine Coast Pride Festival calls out for event submissions

The Sunshine Coast Pride Network has announced event submissions are now open for the 2025 Sunshine Coast Pride Festival.

Held 14-23 November, this will be the longest Pride Festival the Sunshine Coast has ever seen, and the first time the community is invited to contribute events to its program.

By doing this, this year’s festival is aligning with the vision of the recently relaunched Sunshine Coast Pride Network:

– Connecting community, fostering collaborations and inspiring creativity.

– Providing inclusive, diverse and safe spaces for our people and their allies.

– Celebrating LGBTQIA+ achievements and providing a platform for advocacy.

– Creating visibility for the LGBTQIA+ community.

The 2025 festival dates run over two weekends to allow more events the opportunity to take advantage of Friday to Sunday availability. However, submissions are encouraged for weekday shows to ensure a varied and accessible program. The application fee is waived for 2025 to encourage participation.

The festival is seeking diverse representation from the active LGBTQIA+ community across the region, with activities that could include family-friendly picnics, themed or sector-specific day and night events, roller discos, swim squads, music shows, art exhibitions, creative programs and sporting demonstrations.

The Sunshine Coast Pride Festival is a celebration of LGBTQIA+ diversity, community and connection. Its mission is to foster a safe, inclusive and joyful space where LGBTQIA+ individuals, their families and allies can come together to honour and embrace the vibrant spectrum of identities and experiences that enrich our community. In 2025, it returns after a six-year break with a renewed energy and rebrand.

The Pride Festival team is available to discuss event ideas with the community – contact details and application information available at sunshinecoastpride.org/pride-festival
