The Rococo’s Bar and Bistro Noosa Tigers have squandered a mid final quarter twenty-two point lead to eventually fall by 2 points against arch rival Maroochydore in an ANZAC weekend thriller. In tricky windy conditions and with umpiring not dissimilar to what we saw on Anzac Day, the game was fierce from the outset with regard to physicality and attack on the footy.

It was fast, frenetic and fumbly but the intensity was fantastic to watch. There were big bumps, head over the footy contests and few spot fires all over the place which is what a rivalry game should look like.

Whilst obviously disappointed after the game senior coach Adam Bovalino made no excuses ’they stayed in it for longer and got the result. I’m proud of our boy’s efforts and it should stand as a great learning curve as we grow as a team. ‘I really thought we missed the tempo at which we needed to play but we will work on that. We had 5 teenagers in the side today and now they’ll have a much better idea of what real tough senior footy is about. We have plenty of sore bodies so just a matter of regrouping, refreshing and heading down to Springwood for another big assignment. I can’t wait!’

A great game played in the correct spirit but with the wrong result.

As mentioned earlier a big trip to Springwood this Saturday to play a side who have had our measure in the past and who knocked over Maroochydore the week before Easter. One not to miss. Remember to book your tickets to Dane Swan for the President’s Luncheon on May 11th. Numbers are huge already!
