U14s Noosa Dolphins vs Brothers

The U14 Dolphins started strong on Saturday against Brothers, showcasing solid rugby from both sides. Despite some well-executed tries out wide, which ultimately secured the win for Brothers, the Dolphins’ defence (particularly in the middle) kept the scoreline from getting out of hand.

Luke scored a well-constructed try in the first half, keeping the Dolphins in contention for much of the game. However, a few unforced errors prevented the team from capitalising on their chances.

The true highlight of the match, however, was the maturity and sportsmanship displayed by the U14s. In what became a heated encounter at times, the Dolphins showed incredible poise and respect for the referee, demonstrating that rugby is about more than just the score; it’s about character.

Oscar was named Domino’s Player of the Match, with special mentions to Cassius and Mac for their contributions.

A tough loss, but a proud moment for the Dolphins. Keep your heads up, boys, and take the high road; it speaks volumes about the class of this team.

U13s Dolphins vs University

The U13 Noosa Dolphins travelled to Uni to play the Barbarians in a critical match for their finals chances. The game opened with a brutal start, both forward packs battling for dominance. Noosa scored first with an individual run from five-eighth. SC University Barbarians capitalised shortly after securing two strong tries by their star centre. The boys fought hard to stay in the game with another amazing solo try by our prop forward up the sideline. Unfortunately, handling errors meant the U13s fell short of their do-or-die win.

Domino’s Player of the Match was shared between Seb and Marcus.

Score 27-10

U12s Dolphins vs Maroochydore

The U12 Dolphins showcased their depth and determination in a commanding 38–17 win over the Maroochydore Swans, despite missing several key players due to school representative duties and illness.

The match kicked off with swift forward play, leading to Eddie’s early try, converted by Eric. The Swans struck back with a strong solo run to level the scores. Harvey’s electric break soon found Taylor on the wing, setting up Alex Norton to finish and restore the lead.

The second half saw the Dolphins surge ahead. The forwards’ relentless pressure opened space for Evan to crash over, with Eric converting. Hugo added flair with a signature dive and try on the wing; straight out of State of Origin. Eric then turned a clever 5-metre kick into another try and conversion. Despite a Swans reply, Eric responded with a blistering run off a scrum-to-backline play, converted by Alex Norton.

Domino’s Player of the Match went to Jake Townsend for his bone-crunching tackles and game-saving defensive effort. Overall, a standout in a team performance that reflected talent, grit, and top-tier coaching.

U10s Dolphins vs Nambour

The U10s played Nambour at their home ground this week. It was another tough game with four players out sick. The Maroochydore Swans kindly lent the boys some players so a game could go ahead.

The Dolphins put up some great defence, especially Max, Josh and Saul. They worked hard along the defensive line but couldn’t keep Nambour out in the end, with the opposition scoring three quick tries early in the game. The Dolphins didn’t give up and kept plenty of pressure on Nambour, including strong runs by Max and Koa, with Koa eventually getting across the line. Although the team worked hard in defence, with excellent tackles from Eddie and Josh, Nambour managed to score again.

Nambour came out firing in the second half, scoring a couple of quick tries early. Arlo, Saul and Koa had some excellent runs, getting the ball back close to the line, with Arlo eventually scoring two well-deserved tries, both converted by Koa.

Although they were beaten in the end, the boys worked hard and finished a tough game with pride. Coach Damon praised the boys’ determination and spirit. Well done, boys!

U8s Dolphins vs Brothers Blue

A beautiful, crisp Saturday morning down the coast at Caloundra saw the Dolphins take on Brothers Blue. They proved to be challenging opponents who converted their attacking efforts into tries.

Hemi opened the scoring with a strong run around the outside. Archer impressed with solid hit-ups off the back line throughout the game. Owen was a safe pair of hands, showing impressive catching and passing under pressure.

Alfie, the secret weapon, was a brick wall in defence, combining well with Jaxon to seal off the ball at the breakdown and minimise turnovers. Otis improved his tackling technique to shore up the team’s defensive efforts and also scored an outstanding try, diving while being tackled to place the ball just inside the field of play. Xavier Coates, watch out!

Hudson was formidable and strong, pulling off a notable try-saving tackle as the last line of defence.

Domino’s Player of the Match went to Archer for getting stuck in and giving it a real crack.
