Skipper says belief in Broncos’ camp has never been higher

Brisbane Broncos skipper Adam Reynolds has given fans a unique insight into Sunday night’s thrilling preliminary final win over the Penrith Panthers, telling Triple M’s The Rush Hour with Dobbo and Elliott the atmosphere was “the loudest I’ve ever heard any stadium – including Origin”.

Reynolds’ clutch sideline conversion helped seal the comeback against the four-time reigning premiers, sending Suncorp Stadium into meltdown and propelling Brisbane into this weekend’s NRL Grand Final against the Melbourne Storm.

“Pretty much from the moment he (Walsh) missed that goal, he ran back and said, the next one’s yours. So, I was pretty happy. I was a little bit fatigued in the legs, so I didn’t really want to kick too much. It was near to the post and they’re the tricky ones you can get wrong,” he said.

Looking ahead to Sunday’s decider against Melbourne, Reynolds praised the Storm’s pedigree but said belief in the Broncos’ camp has never been higher.

“They’re a great side – any team playing in the Grand Final is a great team. We expect a tough clash. The excitement and the belief amongst the group is probably higher than it’s ever been,” he said.

Reynolds also shared how the team is preparing for the week ahead, including recovery, fan day at Suncorp, and his own mental tricks to stay fresh the night before the biggest game of the season.

“For a lot of younger players, they do play the game in their head over and over, and that can be exhausting. There’s a little trick – you write something on a piece of paper, stick it in a drawer, and it’s out of your head.”

The Broncos will meet the Melbourne Storm in the 2025 NRL Grand Final this Sunday.
