Noosa marathon entries open

Entries for the 2025 ASICS Runaway Noosa Marathon open today following an incredibly successful record breaking 2024 event.

The 2025 event returns to the streets of Noosa on Saturday 24 May, with entries opening for the 5km, 10km, half marathon and marathon events.

This year’s event saw more than 7,000 runners take part, the largest ever Runaway Noosa, with the event injecting millions into the local economy.

The 2024 Runaway Noosa injected almost $16 million into the Queensland economy, with over 15,000 making their way to the Sunshine Coast region, culminating in more than 45,000 visitor nights.

Leanna Ali, Regional Director for The IRONMAN Group Oceania, organisers of Runaway Noosa, said that it was great to see the event have such a positive impact on the local community.

“It’s incredible to see that the 2024 ASICS Runaway Noosa Marathon boosted the Queensland economy by almost $16 million, with our runners, their friends and family making the most of the region and enjoying themselves before, during and after the event,” she said. “It was great to see this year’s event sell-out and we hope to see a great start to the 2025 campaign from today.”

The flat, fast and friendly multi-lap course is set in the heart of Noosa, with the start and finish line just steps away from Hastings Street, with runners never far away from fellow participants and supporters, creating an incredible atmosphere.

The ASICS Runaway Noosa Marathon sits alongside three incredible destination running events across Australia and New Zealand as part of the Runaway Marathon Series. The Runaway Marathon Series also takes runners to Queenstown and Hawke’s Bay in New Zealand and Sydney in Australia, all destinations where natural beauty, world class running, local hospitality and food and wine options make for so much more than just another running event.

For those who want to finish their weekend in the water Swim Noosa takes place on Sunday 25 May.

Swim Noosa provides the perfect opportunity to finish off the race weekend with a dip in Laguna Bay off Noosa Main Beach. The event offers four ocean swims, including 500m, 1km, 2km and 3.8km swims.

The Runaway Noosa Marathon is supported by the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland.
