Eumundi Dragons vs The Swannies.

The starting kick saw the dragons snap into the reality of trying to implement the defensive drills taught at practise. From this moment the team dug deep and managed to pull off some impressive tackling to stifle the swans attacking motions. Led by Josh; George & Tristan the boys defended admirably.

With the ball in hand the lads carried the ball with vigour. Jack; Billy and Brooklyn combined well to take the dragons over the advantage line. Brooklyn in particular employing a razzle dazzle brand of running. George as always crossed the line for 6 or 7 tries. All in all the team is showing the foundations of a solid unit, this being displayed in the 2nd game.

Once again George managed to show his natural swiftness and score a handful of tries, Brooklyn pirouetting his way over the line several times and Billy; Jack and Tristan also combining well to trouble the Uni defence.  U10’s by U10’s Manager, Pamela Campbell-Jones

Game two of the development rounds saw the U10 Dragons straight out of the blocks against Flinders at Maroochydore. The team running down the ball, making solid passes and tackling all over the paddock. It wasn’t long before the Dragons had scored three tries, with Jett Herbert putting the ball over the line, and then through the posts. After a quick break, trying to cool down on a very warm morning, the team headed back out for the second half. Flinders made the second half their own and ran in three of their own tries, adding to the two they scored in the first half. Coaches and supporters were impressed with the level of team play, particularly this early in the year. Despite the loss, there are plenty of positives coming from this game. With the cohort looking stronger and more cohesive as we approach the 2019 season start.

U6s by Rachel Griggs

The mighty U6s impressed today in super scorching conditions. All players showed enthusiasm from the get-go. There was some great passing which resulted in Nixon, Nya and Jax crossing the try line. Superb games from Johnny, Owen, Henry and with newcomer Arthur already showing an understanding with passing and field position. Keep it up Dragons!

U9s by U9s’ Coach, Will Vine

Eumundi Under 9’s played a tight match against Maroochydore Swans with an even amount of tries scored. Josh, Max, Tristan all scored with Jasper, Jett and Ted and Alex all doing their best to get close to the line. Being just two weeks into the 2019 season it is great to see these skills building so early. With these early efforts a great sign of what should come this year.

U7s by U7’s Manager Jeremy Mansell

The U7s had a great second development game on Saturday against USC. The conditions were very hot but both teams gave it their all and were well matched. The Dragon’s got off to a great start with an early try to Tristan with lots of support on attack from Nixon, Johnny and Zac. The team were working well on two passes after a touch and even experimented with scrums and a lineout. Maya, Jax and CJ were working together well on defence and showed great commitment in the hot weather. The team is doing great this early in the season which bodes well for the rest of the season.
