A massive day of footy this Saturday at Rococo oval as all four of the Noosa Tigers Senior teams play the very formidable Surfers Paradise.
The main game at 1pm should be an absolute cracker between the fourth and seventh ranked teams in Queensland’s premier competition and the local boys should be nearly at full strength as the likes of Matt Gaul, Charlie Bowes and Ben McNiece look to return after the bye. And we will certainly need all at their best after the Surfers demons knocked off premiership favourites Palm Beach last week.
Noosa will look to playmakers Conn, Pettigrove and Cates to provide the spark whilst talks Byrne, Freeman and Johnston will be hoping to continue their top form. It was great to get Rhys Free, back in defence last game, who just controls things back there along with the experienced Nathan Horbury who is having another wonderful season. Will McKenzie and younger brother Rory have been terrific for the Tigers also this season and both provide coach Matty Luenberger with versatility and class respectively.
The Senior Womens team have the biggest game of the year ahead of them as they grapple for a finals berth with Surfers. The Tiger girls were well in the contest against Sandgate last weekend only to go down narrowly by a couple of goals. Amanda Tessari was again the pick of the Tigers with the ball winning magnet just so consistently good in season 2025. Amelia Monk, Chip Trompf, Kellie Barker and Ynez Harrop were other good performers on the day. A win against Surfers and the girls are back in the four. Game will be under our new lights from 5.45pm.
The Reserve Grade boys will open the day at 10.30am up against a pretty strong Gold Coast outfit. The Reserves have been much improved over the past two games with the likes of Tarling, Bowes, Monk, Mallon and Korybutiak having plenty of influence over the contest.
Our third placed Colts hit a lowly Surfers Paradise at 3.30 pm and will be looking to continue on their fantastic form in 2025. Look for the likes of Mure, Dinnage, Delaney Taylor, Mackay, Casper’s and the Cooke boys to deliver what must be a Noosa victory as the pointy end of the year approaches.
And socially well we have an annual ‘Ladies Day’ in the clubrooms either special guest speaker, our very own Michelle Brain which looks like it will be a memorable day.
And don’t forget to hang around and watch comedian ‘the suburban footballer’ from 7.30pm for just $20.
What a day coming up.
And good luck to all those representing the mighty Noosa Tigers this weekend!
