Taking nothing away from Owen Wright’s history-making performance at the Fiji Pro last week (two perfect 20 point heats in the one event), it was great to see Coolum’s Julian Wilson continue the brilliant form he’s shown all year. Although Wright outflanked him from the outset in a one-sided final, Jules surfed brilliantly and confidently up to that point, looking like, well, a world champion. His second place puts him number four on the rankings, just behind Owen, with both Aussies shaping up as contenders to slow down the Brazilian Storm. Picture: WSL
