Value in their experience

THE Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC) will be offering an information and chat session on the Sunshine Coast for large and small employers, to encourage the employment of the mature age.
Unbelievable as it may seem, mature age workers are classed by the Australian Bureau of Statistics as 45-plus.
The presentation will take place from 9am to 11.30am on Tuesday 16 June, venue to be advised depending on numbers. There is no cost to participants.
The presentation will cover topics such as: “why mature workers are needed”, “myths and facts about the employment of mature age”,” barriers to employment” and “the positives for both employers and employees”.
It is hoped that employers already employing older workers and those who may need a little encouragement will attend to share their thoughts and experiences. Employers from a wide range of industries will be most welcome.
