The pride of the show

CALLING all cowgirls and cowboys … entries are now open for the Noosa Country Show’s Showgirl and Rural Ambassador competition.
The competition isn’t a beauty contest and the winners will have a great opportunity to be involved with agricultural and community issues.
The Rural Ambassador competition is open to male and female entrants under 29 years with a passion for rural issues, while the showgirl competition caters for all ages from 0 to 7 years for the Little Miss, 8-12 years for the Miss Junior and 13-17 for Miss Teen and 18-28 for the Miss Noosa Showgirl, plus the Little Mister competition for boys aged under 7.
Event organisers said the winner of the Miss Showgirl competition will be well-presented and mannered and will represent Noosa Shire with a great personality and a passion for the beautiful Noosa shire.
“It is a traditional and honourable position that has seen many young ladies gain a wealth of knowledge, confidence and wonderful experiences on their journeys,” they said.
“The right girl may even get to travel the world as they progress through the levels via representing our sub-chamber at the Brisbane Ekka.”
There are prizes up for grabs including cash with the winners announced at the show ball on Saturday 29 August at Pomona Memorial Hall.
