Noosa sends invite

AS temperatures drop in Melbourne a touch of Noosa sunshine has arrived, thanks to Tourism Noosa’s winter marketing campaign You Could Be Here.
The campaign is Tourism Noosa’s biggest winter campaign yet, showcasing beautiful Noosa to Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and New Zealand.
Launched in Melbourne this week, the You Could Be Here campaign is designed to entice interstate visitors to Noosa for the winter season.
Tourism Noosa CEO Damien Massingham said the campaign was a colourful message showing that in the time it takes to rise on these wintry mornings in southern cities, get ready and travel to work, you could be relaxing in the warmth of Noosa.
“The You Could Be Here campaign which this year extends into Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and New Zealand was officially launched in Melbourne on Monday,” he said.
“A new initiative is a Noosa Pop-Up Beach House themed exhibition space at the highly visible Federation Square.
“Located on the corner of Melbourne’s busiest intersection of Swanston and Flinders streets, the Noosa Pop-Up Beach House will open early morning to early evening for a week to entice Melburnians to discover reasons why Noosa is such a great holiday choice at this time of year.”
As part of the activities, a range of events will take place throughout each day, commencing on Monday morning with a live activation with Melbourne’s leading radio station, Nova FM.
There will also be cooking demonstrations with Noosa chef Shane Bailey from Noosa Boathouse, body art painting with Julie Tattam of the Australian Body Art Festival and jazz musician Andrew Swann from the Noosa Jazz Festival.
Visitors to the Noosa Pop-Up Beach House will also have the opportunity to win a Noosa holiday including flights, accommodation, and weekend passes to the Noosa Jazz Festival in September.
In addition to Federation Square being full of Noosa inspiration, a stunning Noosa winter image will also be prominently displayed on the digital screen above Young and Jacksons Hotel and Tourism Noosa’s signature Noosa Melbourne tram will be rolling through the streets each day till early spring in key areas in and around Federation Square including Toorak, South Yarra, St Kilda and along Swanston Street.
Noosa Councillor Frank Wilkie said Melbourne was an important market for Noosa.
“Melbourne is our highest yielding market with a spend of $122 million to the year ending December 2014,” he said.
“The You Could Be Here campaign is all about showcasing Noosa’s beautiful winter weather to those in cooler regions, and positions Noosa as the ideal holiday choice.”
The campaign has been launched to coincide with the largest trade event in the world, the Australian Tourism Exchange, the Melbourne Bridal Expo, and Tourism Noosa’s visit to the International Media Marketplace where appointments have been made with key Australians and international media.
In other regions, Tourism Noosa has secured advertising on Sydney buses, billboards in the Canberra airport while parliament is sitting and a print advertising campaign in New Zealand, plus social media campaigns in Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra.
