NOOSA’S inaugural Paddle in Pink event is off to a roaring start with entrants jumping at the chance to turn the Noosa Sound pink on Saturday 30 August.
Event organisers said there had been a great response already, but there was plenty of room for more entrants into the fund-raising event that was aimed at raising money for breast cancer research and support services through the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
The event will see entrants dress in pink and jump aboard a boat, paddle board, surfboard, kayak or any other floating device and join the group as they make their way around Noosa Sound as a sea of pink.
Event organiser, breast cancer survivor and National Breast Cancer Foundation Sunshine Coast chair Sandra Harding said the Paddle in Pink has received entries already but was urging even more locals to get on board the fund-raising party.
Joining locals on the day will be a number of local identities on board the Celebrity Boat.
Offering support and encouragement on the day will be Noosa councillor and event patron Sandy Bolton, renowned international chef Peter Kuruvita, well-known swim coach Bruce Simpson, triathlete and multi-sport consultant Jessica Fleming and Jason Andrews from All for Adventures.
The morning of fun will start at 7.15am on Saturday 30 August at the Lions Park, Noosa Heads, and entry is only $15 per person while children under 5 are free.
