Have a whale of a time

Get up close and personal with the whales these school holidays.

IF you’re looking to keep the whole family entertained these school holidays, why not jump on the shuttle and head off for a day of whale watching.
Whale One, Mooloolaba, is having a bumper season so come and join the team on board for a whale of a time.
The Humpback Whales are the most predominant whale species passing the Sunshine Coast at this time of year. Naturally curious, they are known as the acrobats of the sea and perform many tricks including breaching (jumping out of the water) which is the most amazing sight.
They live for about 45-50 years and about 20,000 migrate past local shores every year making an exceptionally long journey between their feeding grounds in the Southern Ocean and their breeding grounds in the tropics. They can travel as fast as 8km/h but on their long migration will only travel about 1.6km/h, choosing to rest and socialise along the way.
To make the most of the bumper season, Whale One is offering a 50 per cent discount on all cruises and a super School Holiday Special for the early risers with the 7am cruise for just $29 for children (4-14 years) and $49 for adults. Don’t miss out on this bucket list experience.
