NOOSA resident Ben Walsh heads to Bathurst to compete in round five of the Australian Racing Car Championship being held in conjunction with one of Australia’s largest sporting events, the Super Cheap Auto Bathurst 1000.
Walsh, owner of Miss Moneypenny’s restaurant on Hastings Street, is heading into the weekend’s event after returning to motorsport following a lengthy sit out on the sidelines, after many years of competing professionally at an international level.
Due to his excellent results to date, Walsh has snagged the support of Dr Ink Tattoo Removal, Australia’s leading tattoo removal clinics.
“I’m very excited to be heading to Bathurst next week as it is truly the jewel in the crown of Australian motorsport and rates in the top five circuits in the world,” Walsh said.
“Even though I have competed in many categories at Bathurst in the past and am very familiar with the layout, it has been 15 years since I have driven competitively at the circuit, so I have an absolutely huge task ahead of me as this circuit is a legitimate monster and takes no prisoners.
“To be going to one of the largest sporting events on the Australian calendar with the support of Dr Ink Tattoo Removal is an honour and a challenge that I am more than happy to accept.”
Walsh will hit the track from tomorrow through to the weekend and his races will be televised live on both Fox Sports and Channel Ten.
