The awards were held at the Emporium Hotel in Brisbane on Saturday 10 October.
Noosa Today picked up the prize for the most improved newspaper and won the award for Best Printed Supplement for the special commemorative Anzac centenary edition.
In their comments, the judges said the 18-page Anzac edition printed on 23 April demonstrated not only creativity but also the respect held for the Anzacs.
When awarding the most improved paper, the judges said the quality of entries were “truly outstanding” and congratulated the entrants in producing some “extremely high quality newspapers”.
Star News Group managing director Paul Thomas said the awards were an excellent achievement and showcased the high quality of work that the talented staff produce.
