THE Vietnam Veterans’ Association is offering locals 30 chances to remember those who have fallen in conflicts throughout history.
As part of Remembrance Day, the VVA will sell 30 handmade white crosses decorated with a poppy for only $3 to help raise funds for the association.
VVA member Bruce Wilson says anyone who wants to buy a white cross can write the name of a loved one who has served onto the cross and it will be placed in a sandbox at the Tewantin Noosa RSL cenotaph for the Remembrance Day memorial service.
Mr Wilson said all funds raised through the sale of the white crosses would go towards funding events and programs to help veterans reintegrate back into the community, as well as help support local charities and causes.
The VVA will have a stall outside Dan Murphys, Mary Street, Noosaville, and Bendigo Bank, Poinciana Ave, Tewantin, on Monday 9 November and Tuesday 10 November.
The group will be selling the white crosses plus other merchandise from 8am to 5pm at the Bendigo Bank and from 9am to 5pm at Dan Murphys.
