Classy helpers for Christmas

FOR many local families Christmas planning and preparations are well underway, but there are many Noosa families who won’t be able to enjoy Christmas this year due to financial hardship.
Whether it’s losing a job or suffering from a severe injury or illness, there are many reasons local families may find it hard to make Christmas special this year.
But Santa’s Classy Helpers have been busy all year collecting donations for their annual store at The J, where more than 300 local families were assisted last year.
Noosa Classy Lady owner Lorraine Kenway launched the community charity and together with her tribe of Classy Helpers, they have helped hundreds of local families enjoy Christmas.
Donations are collected throughout the year at morning teas where attendees are asked to bring new items such as cleaning products, hygiene products and toys for kids.
Then, every December, Lorraine and her team of dedicated volunteers set up a pop-up store at the J where families that have been referred can come along and, along with a shopping assistant, pick up everything they need to get through the holiday season for free.
Santa’s Classy Helpers are yet to announce the date of the pop-up shop but anyone who would like to help can still donate items to the charity which is in need of new children’s clothing, pillows, toilet paper, long-life food and personal hygiene and cleaning products.
Drop your donations into Classy Lady boutique at shop2, 1 Gibson Road, Noosaville.
