Second-hand second store

By JOLENE OGLE

Antique collectors and vintage-lovers rejoice.
The Salvation Army has announced it will open a second store in Noosaville with the promise of quirky, eclectic homewares, furniture and clothing.
Store manager Darren Landers said the new Noosaville store will offer a more varied range of products for people to choose from.
“It will be same-same, but different,” he said.
“People can still get a bargain but there will be a point of difference, especially when it comes to bric-a-brac. We have a great collection.”
A sneak peek at the stock already on hand shows there certainly is a great range on offer from a 1920s piano to vintage suitcases and like-new couches, plus everything in between.
Darren said there is plenty of room for more donations so anyone who is looking to do a clean out before Christmas is welcome to donate their unwanted goods to the charity.
Salvation Army spokesperson Lieutenant David Sutcliffe said the great thing about a new store in Noosa is all the money raised will help fund local projects.
“The more we sell, the more money we raise and the more funds we have for our programs,” he said.
“Having local community support is so important to the Noosa Salvation Army. We could not support families and individuals in need within our community without (community) support.”
The new store will be located in the Noosa Homemaker Centre, Mary Street, Noosaville, and will open on Monday 16 November at 9am with deputy-mayor Bob Abbot on hand to officially open the store.
Anyone who would like to donate goods can drop them at a Salvation Army donation bin or phone 5474 0567 for collection.
The new store is also in need of volunteers for a range of tasks including sorting, stocking shelves and retail.
