Autumn four-person challenge semis.
Semi-final 1:
Axemen (R. Gore, C. Barry, S. Gardner, L. Gore ) d Blizzard ( B. Blakemore , M. Clarke, J. Murphy , R. Yao ) 8/4.
This was very much a clinical performance by an already strong outfit further strengthened by substitute Steve who recorded an undefeated record on the night.
Semi-final 2:
Windmills ( S. Ciercan, A. Munro, B. Muller, M. Duncan ) d Bandits ( K. McDonald, O. Estraviz, J. Campbell , J. Mikkelson) 8/3.
Much closer than the scoreline suggests with the Bandits losing all of the five rubbers that went to the wire. Captain Sbig for the Windmills took great pleasure also in finally adding Kye’s scalp to his collection. Put this one down to a team’s collective fighting spirit!
Grand final is next week and a new season will start on the 25th June.
Competition night is Wednesday from 7 p.m. and we also have a practise session on Monday nights from 7.15 pm. Social groups meet three afternoons a week. All sessions are held at the Bicentennial centre Sunshine beach.
