IT was a day of celebrations for local charity Sunshine Butterflies when they held their inaugural Christmas celebrations at their new property in Cooroibah.
The five-acre hobby farm named Our Backyard will become the thriving new premises for the group next year, when a range of animal therapy programs will be added to the organisation’s already impressive list of facilities for the community.
For the Christmas party, held last Tuesday 24 November, the farm was decorated for an authentic Australian-themed backyard Christmas with a barbecue and gum trees flickered with fairy lights, while Santa arrived on a mower.
More than 150 guests were treated to a selection of Christmas carols sung by group members, plus a pantomime and a list of heartfelt speeches.
