THE Cooroy Butter Factory Arts Centre (BFAC) is back in the hands of the community as the Cooroy Future Group (CFG) gets set to host a bumper year of art.
From 1 January, management of the BFAC has returned to the community under the guidance of the CFG for a 12-month trial.
CFG president Tex Pipke said he was excited about the coming year, which was set to be a positive one with the addition of two new staff members, exhibitions co-ordinator Cathy Money and assistant exhibition co-ordinator Rachel Bevan.
“Both are known to many people, including artists in Cooroy, the Noosa area and indeed throughout the Sunshine Coast. They have been busy planning and programming a schedule for the year, and our first exhibition opened on Friday 8 January,” he said.
This exhibition includes a joint showing of stunning artworks for sale by two highly respected local artists, Kym Barrett and Kim Schoenberger.
The gallery is open Tuesday to Sunday with the current exhibition running until 17 February.
