On stage and amped

NOOSA’S live music scene just got bigger with SoundFeast launching this week on The J’s Big Stage.
Noosa’s unique open-mic event is back with a bang this year as Jay Bishoff, co-founder of Peregian Originals, is set to give the monthly event a musical overhaul.
Originally named Open Ended, the open-mic event was first launched in January 2015 as a platform for local artists of all performance styles to come together and express themselves.
The talent is set to continue into 2016 with Jay adding extra pizazz to the event with featured local artists to appear on the Big Stage each month alongside spontaneous performances by local artists and musicians.
“We will keep the aspect of spontaneous performances and there will also be regular booked artists, the best acts on the Coast,” he said.
Jay said SoundFeast was a great chance for local performers to experience performing on a big stage with professional lighting and sound.
“There has been an explosion of these open-mic events in Noosa, but what I like about this venue is that it offers something unique with the high level, professional stage,” he said.
“Performers can experience a professional concert production of high quality with top quality lighting and a concert environment which is really valuable.”
Performers can write their name on the chalkboard on arrival to the event on a first-come, first-serve basis and all styles of performance are welcome from comedy to drama to music.
The first SoundFeast kicks off at the J Noosa, 60 Noosa Drive, Noosa Heads this Friday 29 January from 6pm. Although this is an all-ages event, a special upstairs space is available for under 18s who stay after 8pm. Entry is free and you can contact the J on 5329 6560 for more information.
