TEWANTIN State School students will surely beat the summer heat in and out of the pool this year thanks to a generous donation.
The school sent out an S.O.S. last year appealing for help from the local community after internal issues meant the management of the pool was left high and dry.
One Agency principal Grant Baker said the decision to put his hand up and help was an easy one for himself and his wife Natasha, who has been running the pool since February last year.
“It was only meant to be a six-week thing, but Natasha has been there ever since, running things,” he said.
Through his company, Grant donated a shade cloth to the Tewantin State School which now rests over an area of the pool keeping kids and adults shaded from the summer sun.
“It not only benefits the kids who go to the school, it benefits the community as well, so now they will be protected and shaded.”
