THE Noosa Tigers have announced the coaching panel for the U13, U15 and U17 girls teams.
Fathers Simon Backman, Butch Smith and Julian “Pitsy” Pitts are now the coaches of the girl teams, and with a combined playing experience of 50 years and over a decade of coaching experience, the girls are set to roar.
The announcement comes after the official AFL Community website reported a 46 per cent increase in female participation in AFL for 2015.
The website said 163 new female football teams began in 2015, taking the total number of women taking part in the game to 284,501.
The Noosa Tigers are calling on the community to get behind this “revolution” and encourage the girls to get in the game.
