THE Noosa Jazz Party looks to be the only jazz event to be held in Noosa this year as doubt surrounds the annual Noosa Jazz Festival which usually runs parallel to the Party.
The annual Noosa Jazz Party, which is run by the Noosa Heads Jazz Club, is back again for its fifth consecutive year and is set to be bigger than ever.
The Jazz Party kicks off on 26 August for 10 days of jazz, concluding on Sunday 4 August with a free public concert in the park.
Noosa Heads Jazz Club president Richard Stevens said tickets were already selling fast and over 29 musicians had been booked for the party.
“Thousands of people attended the party last year and already people from New Zealand and Melbourne have called to book tickets and they’re selling fast,” Mr Stevens said.
“We didn’t mean for the party to be a tourism event but it has definitely turned into that.”
The highlight of the party will take place at The J, Noosa Heads, where over six hours of jazz will be played over four consecutive nights from 1 to 4 August.
Jazz lovers who attended the party last year will receive a program for the 2016 Jazz Party in their mailboxes in the coming weeks and an online program will be online at the end of May.
