Glasgow push for faster internet

COUNCIL candidate Jess Glasgow has vowed to connect Cooroy after residents call for faster internet speed.
“From the information I’ve gathered over recent months, most people in the community consider the NBN network a necessity for businesses moving forward,” he said.
“Residents also want faster internet connections as the present system is woefully inadequate.”
Mr Glasgow said Big Air, a provider of networking infrastructure among other things, could be the solution to the internet problem.
“Big Air internet services has built an underground NBN line that covers practically the whole east coast of Australia, and runs right past Cooroy,” Mr Glasgow said.
“As we speak, there is a black box next to the Butter Factory ready to be utilised.
“Big Air is a business, and obviously their main objective is to get a return on their outlay.”
Mr Glasgow said after making inquiries Big Air downed tools after a “perceived lack of interest”.
“Apparently the exact number of businesses and residents, willing to sign-up, was never confirmed,” he said.
“Noosa needs the NBN fibre link to continue from Cooroy.”
“As champion councillor, I will campaign hard for the NBN in Noosa.”
