Cooroy’s got talent

COOROY’S annual Fusion Festival is just around the corner and is set to be jam packed with fun for the whole family.
The festival is to be held on Saturday 7 May with ativities spanning from from the Cooroy Mill Site to the CWA Hall.
Cooroy Library programs officer Liz Bleechmore said she was already looking forward to the festival.
“Cooroy Fusion Festival is a fantastic day for the town and we are proud to be a part of it,” she said.
“We get thousands of people through the doors during the day and every single one of them has a smile on their face.”
New additions to this year’s program include the Ozobot Coding workshops where seven to 10-year-olds can learn fun and simple coding using a miniature robot, the Ozobot.
The Noosa Library Service’s NAO robot Dewey will also be a star of the day with a beginner session that will take you through the basics of programming a robot using using Choreographe software.
There will be plenty of activities to keep children entertained including the popular all-day Lego Lounge and the First Five Forever Story Play area which will hold a range of creative resources for children and parents to discover new ways to encourage early literacy.
Cooroy Fusion showcases local talent – and the Fusion Author Fair in the Library does just that by offering a chance to discover the talented wordsmiths who live in the local area. Books will be for sale, with authors there to sign your copy.
Musicians from Music on Mondays will also be in attendance, a popular program that showcases emerging local musicians such as Confusion Says and others. There will also be Living Yoga and Tai Chi Demonstrations.
