AFTER record crowds and bumper sales the annual Bookfest Noosa is over for another year.
Residents and visitors flocked to the annual book bonanza to stock up their libraries and support a good cause.
Now in its 14th year, Bookfest Noosa saw many customers donate used books as well buy second hand books from novels to biographies.
Noosa Rotary Day Break’s John McAlpin said many local charities would benefit from the three-day book sale.
“Thank you to all the people that came to buy, it is because of you that we will be donating thousands and thousands of dollars to our major beneficiaries who this year are the Leukaemia Foundation and the Katie Rose Sunshine Hospice in Noosa,” he said.
“Rotary Noosa Daybreak could not stage this event on our own.
“We want to thank the many hard working helpers who joined in the work of staging this event – volunteers from our community, The Noosa Men’s Shed team, The Noosa Heads Surf Lifesaving Club, and the Sunshine Beach Surf Lifesaving Club.”
