Brilliant Beanie to fund brain cancer research

MAY is National Brain Cancer Awareness month and local not-for-profit organisation Beyond Brilliant Foundation is hosting their Brilliant Beanie Lunch.
The lunch will raise funds for Carrie Bickmore’s Beanies 4 Brain Cancer, a foundation launched by the Channel Ten TV Presenter after she famously donned a beanie during her Gold Logie acceptance speech in 2015.
Carrie’s husband died from a brain tumour in 2010, and Carrie launched the foundation to raise funds and awareness for brain cancer.
Attendees to the Noosa lunch will be the first people in Australia to see the Brilliant Beanie that has been created by Jane Meredith and her team at Secrets Shhh.
The Brilliant Beanie will be touring Australia visiting many fashion runways and celebrity spots to raise funds toward helping Carrie reach her goal of raising $1 million for brain cancer research.
Proceeds from the lunch will go towards setting up a 24-hour national call centre to assist those affected by brain cancer.
Local founder of Beyond Brilliant Foundation Kerry Phairs knows first-hand the isolation of receiving a diagnosis and not having anyone to talk to about what to expect.
In September 2013, Kerry and her husband Mark were told that Mark had two malignant brain tumours.
Sadly, Mark lost his battle with brain cancer in June 2014. Kerry is keeping her promise to Mark to support those touched by brain tumours and has set up Beyond Brilliant Foundation to carry on his legacy.
If you would like to be a part of this great event to be held at the Noosa Waterfront Restaurant on Saturday 28 May from 11.30am to 3pm, head to www.charitydos.com.au to book your tickets.
