Noosa Blacks on fire

By PETA HOLMES

The Noosa Eagles teams went head to head this week with Under-7 Black defeating Under-7 Gold – 7 – 0. The Noosa Blacks were on fire with Sammy Poulton (black) scoring a goal in the first two minutes, Bella Hilligers (gold) let her strong skills kick in as she stood her ground in the backline providing a great defence. She gave Alaska Rosenkranz (black) a run for his money working him hard to score his four goals for the game. After first half as goalie Eamon Shamansky (black) came out strong with a near miss then scoring a goal straight through the middle, while Jaimen Slavin (black) took one all along the side, running up the field to score a sensational goal.
Xavier Attard (gold) and Joel Fitzgerald (gold) did a fantastic job in goals defending many attempts and they did exceptionally well to only let seven goals through and Bonnie Boyes (gold) had a great game in attack providing constant pressure on Noosa Blacks defence. Sammy Poulton (black) and Isaac Benjamin (black) both stood their ground in goals. Congratulations to Alaska Rosenkranz (black ) and Bella Hilligers (gold) this week for taking home the encouragement award from their respective coaches.
U12 Noosa Gold played Buderim Ninjas on Saturday, and despite a courageous effort went down 3-0. Noosa’s defence kept the pressure on with Aiden Hawke and Cole Suter doing a great job, but the Ninjas were too strong on the day. Goalkeeper Jay Medhurst was named Player of the Match for another fantastic effort, stopping a number of the Ninjas attempts.
The under 13s played an exciting game against Caloundra at Good Shepherd on Saturday and were narrowly defeated 1-0. Noosa’s strong defence with Kate Hamilton, Maddie Simpson, Jake Jenkins and goalie Logan Curtis ensured Caloundra worked very hard for their goal while Noosa also had several close attempts to score but were unsuccessful. Noosa’s player of the week is striker Madeline White for her fantastic efforts on the day.
