TWO local icons have joined forces to create a day of fun for locals and tourists in the picturesque Noosa Everglades.
Kayaking specialists Kanu Kapers has joined up with former Gympie Goldfields Music Hall The Apollonian Hotel for its new Paddle and Pub Tour.
Adventurers can spend the day paddling through the awe-inspiring Noosa Everglades soaking up the natural beauty and can now finish off the day with a free coldie in the historic pub.
The Apollonian Hotel assistant manager and long-time local Jessica Watson said the partnership grew organically and was a great chance to build a stronger sense of community.
“It’s great to partner up with Kanu Kapers, it makes sense as both businesses are well-known in the local area,” Ms Watson said.
“We offer everyone who paddles, even kids, a free drink at the end of the trip while they talk about their great adventure.”
Kanu Kapers co-owner Vivienne Golding, who is also Australian slalom white water kayak and canoe champion, said she welcomed the opportunity to show off more of Boreen Points’ hidden gems.
“This is a really exciting opportunity to show off what our picturesque home Boreen Point has to offer and add extra value for our clients,” she said.
“The Apollonian Hotel is fondly known in the area but visitors to Noosa rarely get the opportunity to experience it.
“Those who do love it.
“This is the perfect end to a perfect days’ kayaking.”
Kanu Kapers, a multiple winner of the Certificate of Excellence by Trip Advisor, was started 14 years ago while Ms Golding was driving from Brisbane to paddle the everglades, one of only two in the world.
“It’s amazing that we have such a beautiful place right on our doorstep.
“How can we not enjoy such an amazing environment,” she said.
