Cosmic series opens with Bliss

THE first instalment in the Cosmic Concert series known as Planet Bliss saw locals and tourists alike dancing and grooving to three of the best local acts in town.
Now The J is getting ready to do it all again with the announcement of another stellar line.
Electronic legends Tijuana Cartel will join roots and rock genius The Lyrical and the awe-inspiring Sahara Beck as they take to the stage next month to light up the dance floor with catchy beats and groovy sounds.
Headliners Tijuana Cartel are hailed as the corner stone of Australia’s ‘east meets west’ electronic scene, have a knack for blending layers of rich, intricate atmospheric soundscapes with laid back rhythms and luscious vocals to form an electronic beats tapestry that will cut through to your very soul.
Simply, there isn’t another band doing what they do. Having spent the last decade mixing in influences that haven’t been fused in the past, their penchant is for Middle Eastern scales, beats that get a floor moving and a general psychedelic approach in song structure and ethos.
Sharing the stage with the boys is truly independent artist Sahara Beck, fresh from her national tour, and is set to wow the crowds with her unique and diverse sound.
Releasing her first album at just 14 years of age, Sahara is an artist finding her own sound and in the process emerging as not just another remarkable voice.
Sahara’s vocals have been described as truly impressive from a tempest, gale force one minute, sultry the next, right back up to the heavens and beyond.
And sharing the stage again with Sahara is locally grown roots, rock and hip hop artist The Lyrical who will take the crowd on a journey with his unique blend of beat-boxing meshed with folk guitar and socially conscious lyrics.
Comfortable on the stage, The Lyrical has opened for root and hip hop legends such as Ash Grunwald and Illy and rocked many popular festivals such as the Byron Bay Bluesfest and Big Day Out.
The second instalment of the Cosmic Concert series is set to get you grooving, so head along to The J, 60 Noosa Drive, Noosa Junction, on Saturday 25 June from 5pm. Get your early bird tickets for $30 at www.thej.com.au , or $35 on the door. For further information, phone 5329 6560.
