AFTER countless volunteer hours and thousands of stitches, Boomerang Bag volunteers are finally ready to release the upcycled reusable bags into the Noosa community.
The Boomerang Bag official launch will take place on Sunday 19 June at the Bent Banana in Peregian Beach from 10am.
Project manager Desire Gralton said Bent Banana was the perfect place to launch the community project.
“We’re launching at the Bent Banana as they have been supportive of our project all along, acting as a drop-off point for sheets and all sorts of donations that have already or will at some stage become bags,” she said.
Bent Banana owner Jenny Walker said she was happy to support the community initiative which she believed would be well supported by locals.
“We think this is a great idea and we know people will use the bags and bring them back because they’re in the Village each day,” she said.
Head along to the Bent Banana to celebrate the release of the first 1000 upcycled Boomerang Bags and enjoy a free mocktail and performance by The Cherry Ripes who will be covering Tim Minchin’s canvas bags song with a twist.
