U8 Blue
U8 Blue braved the cool winds to travel to Kawana for what proved to be a couple of tough games.
Jack had an outstanding couple of games with some magic bulldozing runs breaking through several Kawana players.
We saw pocket rocket Lachlan running up with his team mates supporting them through tackles and runs.
Super Sam helped his team plough forward with some fancy footwork. It was a great team effort, boys!
U8 Yellow
It was freezing conditions for the team which faced off against Kawana, which itself certainly turned on the chill factor.
The boys went up against the Grey Dolphins and our Pirates were there to break through the ice!
Riley O’Neill received the Player of the Match this week.
He continues to always give his best and improve on his game.
There was some great attacking play by the team with forceful hit ups and good ball control by Abraham, Dusty and Cooper which, in turn, enabled a number of tries being scored by Hayden, Brandon and Phoenix.
U9 Yellow
The U9 Yellow Pirates’ Pretzel and Bailey are working hard to get their team running harder onto the ball.
There were plenty of highlights throughout the game.
Thanks again to Kearne, Ash and Ty for helping the team out.
All players leading into the holidays got the player of the match gong.
U10
The U10 teams had three big games against a fresh Kawana team and played hard.
The Blues started off first against Kawana Maroon and did some great tackling and try scoring.
Yellows were up next against Kawana Grey and played well but some improvements still need to be made with missing tackles and defence.
Blues were up again against another fresh Kawana team and played well, being consistently dominant again.
U11 Yellow
This week the boys had a road trip down to Caboolture and the Pirates had a strong win 46-28.
In a hard and physical game, the much larger Caboolture hit the ground running and scored quickly.
The Pirates, however, played some great attacking footy to regain the lead.
Coach Isaac gave the man of the match to the whole team for such a great effort this week.
U12 Gold
There were plenty of nerves leading into the healthy rivalry that Noosa U12s and Kawana have established over many years.
The skills from both teams again leaving us in awe. Noosa were, throughout the entire game, sensational in defence.
A few uncharacteristic handling errors creeping into the game stifled the blistering attack we have become accustomed too.
U13 Gold
The boys went down to the undefeated dolphins playing with no reserves and 12 players for the entire second half.
The team’s effort was tremendous and they never gave up right to the end. Well done boys hold your heads up, you’re all champions.
U18 Girls
Well, that was another tough night at the office.
The U18s had the mercy rule applied with the score getting to 50-0 in the second half.
The biggest mistake is not moving forward together in defence and shutting down their runners early.
We all have reasonable tackling techniques that we have been practicing but if we give them time and space it is too hard to apply our techniques.
