One night of Meow Meow

They say curiosity killed the cat, but Meow Meow is one cool kitten you don’t want to miss.
The opening act for the coming Noosa Long Weekend Festival, Meow Meow is set to bring her trademark ‘kamikaze cabaret’ and performance art exotica to hypnotise and inspire audiences for one night only.
Direct from her critically acclaimed appearance as Titania in ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ at Shakespeare’s Globe theatre in London, the internationally celebrated Queen of Cabaret is hailed as a “spectacular crowd-surfing queen of song” who “drags cabaret kicking and screaming into the 21st century”.
Meow’s solo works have been curated by David Bowie, Pina Bausch and Mikhail Baryshnikov among others, and she has created original works for numerous international arts festivals and venues from Shanghai to Wroclaw as well as performing everything from Schubert and Schumann with orchestra to touring with punk outfit Amanda Palmer and The Dresden Dolls.
Although Meow’s calendar is full of fabulous and exotic destinations, Meow says Noosa is on the top of her list to visit.
“Noosa Long Weekend is a festival I will always move mountains to be part of amidst my hectic schedule,” Meow said.
“The festival’s intimate style coupled with Noosa itself being ‘heaven on earth’, and so very hospitable to a showgirl is what brings me back.
So fasten your seat belts and get ready for a great night of theatre that I will enjoy as much as you will. Only wish I could stay longer.”
Noosa Long Weekend kicks off on Friday 1 July with a Carnivale street festival along Hastings Street, followed by Meow Meow at The J Theatre, Noosa Junction, at 7pm and 9.30pm.
