Slow down for schools

Local police are urging motorists to slow down as thousands of local kids return to school today.

POLICE are urging motorists to slow down as thousands of local students return to the classroom today (Monday) to start term three.
Noosa Heads Officer in Charge Senior Sergeant Steve McReight said police officers would be monitoring the school zones to make sure drivers were within the 40km/h school zone speed limit.
“Local police officers will be enforcing the speed limit in all school areas across the region,” Sen Sgt McReight said.
The police patrols are designed to help keep students safe as they travel to and from school.
The school zones are clearly marked with large signs and road markings and are active between 7-9am and again from 2-4pm.
