THE 2015 Australian of the Year and family violence campaigner Rosie Batty is Peppers Noosa Resort and Villas’ guest speaker at the luncheon event next month.
Rosie has become a leader in the crusade against domestic violence, launching the Luke Batty Foundation and turning her personal tragedy into a fight to help others.
Join Rosie at Peppers Noosa Resort and Villas’ newly refurbished bar and restaurant, View Restaurant, from 12.30pm to 3pm on Friday 5 August, and be moved by her story of resilience and courage, as she shines a light on an issue that demands Australia’s attention.
Tickets are $85 per person and include a glass of sparkling wine and canapes on arrival, a two-course lunch with wine, as well as charity raffles and auction.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Luke Batty Foundation, Mantra Group’s official charitable partner.
Peppers Noosa Resort and Villas general manager Steve McPharlin said Rosie brought awareness to a social issue that could affect everyone.
“It’s an issue that should receive greater profile and support, and we’re proud to help build awareness to this cause,” he said.
“Our upcoming event is one of many across Mantra Group’s Australian hotel network as our team continues to hold fund-raising activities in our respective regions.”
Along with fund-raising events, Peppers Noosa Resort and Villas also donates $2 per day from every day delegate package sold to the Luke Batty Foundation to help them continue their meaningful work.
In the past year, Peppers Noosa Resort and Villas has contributed more than $17,000 to the Luke Batty Foundation through various initiatives.
