THE Peregian Beach Community House is warning vandals to stay away after four new security cameras were installed last week.
The House is now protected by seven cameras that record in high-definition, so even the smallest of detail can be recorded.
Peregian Beach Community House acting president Eddy Crook said the state-of-the-art system will now cover more angles and areas of the property.
“We can also help other local businesses because one of the cameras picks up the road out the front,” he said.
Mr Crook said vandals recently attacked a shed at the rear of the property, but thanks to the new cameras, anyone who attempts to vandalise the shed again will be caught.
“The new system allows us to review months of footage, download it onto a USB and give it to the police,” he said. “The pictures are crystal clear.”
The system was installed by Noosa Alarms, and Mr Crook said it was time the original analogue system was upgraded.
The Peregian Beach Community House paid for the installation of the alarm system in what is a council-owned building but Mr Crook said the new system would “pay for itself” by protecting the much-loved community asset.
