Cash for modified car

By HOLLIE HARRIS

THE RACV Resort Noosa hosted a fund-raiser this week to help raise money for wheelchair-bound Tewantin lady Rachael Henson to buy a modified car.
The resort kindly donated their room and services on Thursday which was put together by Ella Gerahty of Noosa DJ’s with the help of local celebrant Kath Tilly.
“I could see her struggle with public transport and the costly Taxi or transfer services to see specialist in Brisbane.“ said Ms Gerahty
Ms Henson’s disabilities have confined her to a wheelchair which restricts her from leading an independent lifestyle.
Ms Gerahty and approached Kath Tilly from Lovestruck Celebrant to do this fundraiser for Rachael, directing it to the Wedding industry and local business.
The event was themed as “All you need is Love”
“A car would greatly improve her lifestyle and as someone who is well known and liked in the area, the community really rallied together to support her.”
“We had many wonderful businesses and individuals contribute, and it shows what a wonderful community we belong to,” said Ms Gerahty.
Many people from the wedding industry attended, donating prizes and funds totalling $2700, which takes Rachael one step closer to the $40,000 she needs for a car.
Rachael has a gofundme page www.gofundme.com/RachaelsWheels where you can see her story and progress.
