Co-working space for mums, bubs

By HOLLIE HARRIS

AUGUSTINE International and The Powerhouse are putting on a fashion show at the Noosa Boathouse next month to help raise funds for a local networking group for work-from-home parents.
After having huge success in New Zealand, the fashion label is opening its first Australian store in Hastings Street, and will showcase their style and flair at the fund-raising event hosted by the Boathouse.
The fashion show will be held on Friday 12 August from 6pm with members from The Powerhouse and local women’s group, Life Beyond 30, taking to the catwalk.
The Powerhouse foudner Aimee Sherriff said she had a vision to create a co-working space for parents with a play area for their children, and events such as this would help get the group closer to opening the first child friendly co-working space in Noosa.
The Powerhouse will provide a collaborative work space for parents to comfortably work with their children nearby and aims to keep costs low, by members sharing in the duties of running the space.
Training programs and short courses will also be offered in all aspects of running and growing their small business with mentoring and support available to all co-op members in areas such as writing, developing and/or expanding their business.
All funds raised from the fashion show will go directly into getting the doors open to this unique co-working space.
Local Businesses, Life Beyond 30 and SP Mitchell Real Estate have also jumped on board to support this community event.
Canapes and champagne will be served on the night, with music supplied by a DJ. There will also be a bar, an auction, and of course a chance to check out the latest line of fashion from Augustine.
Aimee said it was sure to be a fun night out at the Noosa Boathouse for local businesses, partners and friends on Friday 12 August at 6pm. Tickets are available through the Boathouse on 5447 5070 and are $45 each.
