ANXIETY, panic disorders and performance anxiety are three issues Damian Murdoch and Rupert Godwin have identified with personally on their venture to start up the Rewriting Anxiety support group in Noosaville, which begins this month.
The first meeting will be on 7 September with an aim to provide both support and the telling of their personal journeys, combined with practical education which they have found instrumental in overcoming their own challenges.
Registered Nurse Rupert met disability care support worker Damian at the Noosa Toastmasters Group and formed the idea for a group based on their own struggles with panic disorder and anxiety.
“We have both been determined not to let these challenges limit developing our full potential,” Damian said.
“Being bold and joining such a group is the most important part of starting the positive journey of managing anxiety effectively,” he said.
Meetings will be held on the first and third Wednesday of every month from 7pm to 9pm.
The maximum charge will be $10, which contributes to hiring the venue and this also includes supper and course materials.
The meetings will be held at The Yoga Centre, 17 Edward Street, Nooasville, and further inquiries can be made by contacting Rupert on 0432 386 357 or Damian on 0418 591 549.
