Amazing year for Wombats

AT the end of a season where there were many firsts, Cooroora United Football Club took the opportunity to do two things at once last weekend.
Trophies were handed out to great applause at the junior presentation day, but the fact that eight of the nine competitive teams made it to the finals this year, four made it to the grand final and two won their grand final games was simply amazing.
The timing of the gathering couldn’t have been better for the Wombats, with many of their sponsors also on hand to see what all the hard work amounted to at the much-loved local football club.
Sponsorship co-ordinator Justin Loveridge thanked the Cooroy Community Bank branch of Bendigo Bank, Sunrise Dental, Noosa to Hinterland Plumbing Group, JNJ Mech Services, Howz@ Building and Pest Inspections, Cooroy Harvest Fresh, Gelignite Jacks, Noosa Trophies and Engraving and everyone who has worked together to make the 2016 season such a great success.
“Our club has grown from strong community foundations, just like many of our sponsors. We’re here because our community gets involved and supports us. Without them we wouldn’t have the club we have today,” Justin said.
“We have a dynamic mix of players and some really great teams coming through. Our Wombat teams are playing great football, and any way you look at it we’re a club on the rise. That’s exciting.”
One long-term sponsor has been the Cooroy Community Bank branch and Justin thanked Bendigo Bank and its ongoing support.
Anyone looking to become involved with Cooroora United can do so by contacting the club through any of the numbers on its website: cufc.org.au.
