STATE Member for Noosa Glen Elmes is pleased to announce that the Noosa Tigers have been successful in their application for a State Government grant worth $22,727 to fund the installation of solar panels at their Noosaville clubhouse.
“The ever expanding Noosa Tigers is arguably one of the best AFL facilities in Queensland and now with the help of a Gambling Community Benefit Fund grant and the power of the sun, the Club is well placed to support future growth.
“Investing in solar energy will significantly reduce the Club’s ever increasing operating costs, meaning more money can be invested on initiatives that deliver community outcomes and improve the wellbeing of their members.
“The Tigers have been an integral part of the Noosa community since 1970, and have a membership base of nearly 1000. Their competition spans from Under 6 to seniors and keeps all ages involved, physically active and engaged in community life.
“Not for profit groups such as the Tigers rely heavily on the work of volunteers and government grants to remain viable. The cost of electricity can be crippling so turning to a renewable energy source is not only imperative for financial survival but important for the future sustainability of our precious environment.
