WOMEN
THE last Women’s Monthly Medals for 2016 were hard fought for.
On Thursday 3 November, the winners were Fay Wiggins (67), Maria Taurer (66), and Barbara Taylor (68). Maria Taurer had the best score of the day with Fay Wiggins runner-up. With the greens recently renovated, putting was a bit of a hit or miss affair and there were three players with the least putts – Carole Clancy, Fay Wiggins, Shay Zulpo (30).
Rundowns went to Barbara Taylor (68), Wendy Morse (69), Lavinia Hill (69), Muriel Willett (70), Aileen Morton (71), Shay Zulpo (72), Lyn Blackmore (73), Mary Miller (73) and Assunta Easton (73).
Approaches were won by Lyn Blackmore, Maria Taurer and Kaye Gilmour. The scores on Saturday 5 November were even more impressive.
Lauris Mitchell was a clear winner of the Monthly Medal with a magic nett (57). Sarah Brogden’s (63) earned her runner-up and the rundowns went to Karen Hall (64), Lynne Dawson (65), Lyn Blackmore (68) and Bronwyn Woolbank (70). Lyn Blackmore won the putting (24) and the pin shot.
All those who won Monthly Medals during 2016 are now eligible to compete in the Medal of Medals on 24 November.
