TOURISM Noosa has walked away from the 2016 Queensland Tourism Awards with a swag of honours for their innovative marketing campaigns.
The awards were held at the Brisbane Convention Centre on Friday 11 November with Tourism Noosa winning silver in the Richard Power Award for Destination Marketing.
Tourism Noosa CEO Damien Massingham said the awards were a positive opportunity to showcase not only the region but individual businesses from the region.
“Winning silver was a great privilege not only for our organisation but also the Tourism Noosa members who participate in many of our co-operative marketing opportunities,” he said.
“This award is one of the most competitive categories to enter, and our submission focused on the integrated brand marketing program delivered throughout the year with a focus on key deliverables including our domestic interstate campaign, a focus on strategic international growth, brand partnerships, harnessing social media and targeting niche markets to disperse visitation seasonally and geographically.”
The Tourism Noosa team also won bronze in the Festivals and Events category for Noosa Food and Wine 2016.
“This was the first year Tourism Noosa took over the reins and actually ran the event, so it was particularly heartening to be recognised in this category and will help further cement the festival’s reputation as a leading event in Australia,” Mr Massingham said.
Tourism Noosa members were also recognised on the night including Australia Zoo who won silver in the Major Tourist Attraction category and Narrows Escape Rainforest Retreat who won silver in the Hosted Accommodation category.
“We congratulate the members who were recognised on the evening and all members who participate in the awards,” Mr Massingham said.
“Noosa has an incredibly strong tourism industry, and it is wonderful to see our operators and the Tourism Noosa Team being recognised as true industry leaders.”
